Abstract

This research discusses the Synodal Presbyterial and its implementation in The Evangelical Christian Church in Indonesian (GEKISIA). The purpose of this research is to analyze the synodal presbyterial system based on a study of its definition and historical development. It then explores the extent of its implementation pattern and application in GEKISIA. To achieve this goal, a literature study was used to find the main characteristics of the synodal presbyterial system. It then examined the principles applied in the structure and implementation of leadership in GEKISIA. The research found that the synodal presbyterial system is not necessarily applied in its entirety. GEKISIA has modifications in its implementation both in the role of synods and tiered leadership. The novelty in this research lies in the application of the synodal presbyterial system in GEKISIA which has never been studied before.
